MARSHFIELD, Wis. — With the new school year underway, area families are invited to learn more about Girl Scouts during a free event in Marshfield next week. Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes will host a “Fur-ever Friends” Girl Scout event on Thursday, September 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library in the J.P. Adler Room. The event is open to girls in 4K through fifth grade and their families who are interested in discovering what Girl Scouts has to offer. Participants will have an opportunity to take part in pet-themed activities, meet other girls and families interested in scouting, and learn about the different ways Girl Scouts can help young people develop new skills, build confidence, lead, create and connect with their community. Organizers say the event is designed to give families a fun and informal introduction to Girl Scouts while helping girls find their local scouting community. The “Fur-ever Friends” event is free to attend, and no RSVP is required. Families can simply stop by the library between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on September 10.
