Community News Contributor Guidelines
The Marshfield Broadcasting Community Contributor Program gives residents, organizations and community members in Marshfield and the surrounding area an opportunity to share local news and stories with the community.
- Submissions are reviewed before publication. Marshfield Broadcasting may edit, return for changes, decline or remove submitted content.
- You are responsible for your submission. Information should be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not knowingly submit false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful material.
- You must have permission to use submitted material. Only submit writing, photographs or other material you created or have permission to use.
- Community Contributor stories are identified as such. Published stories will identify the contributor and state that the story was submitted by a member of the community.
- Submitting a story does not guarantee publication. Marshfield Broadcasting determines whether submitted material is appropriate for its community news coverage.
- Keep it local and community-focused. Submissions should have a reasonable connection to Marshfield or the surrounding area.
- Be respectful and constructive. Treat the people, organizations and communities you write about with respect. Personal attacks, harassment, threats, discriminatory or hateful content, bullying, or content intended primarily to provoke or demean others will not be accepted. Disagreement and criticism are welcome when presented in a factual, civil and constructive manner.
- Use across Marshfield Broadcasting platforms. By submitting a story, you understand that your article, including its text and submitted photo, may be published, shared, reproduced, or adapted across Marshfield Broadcasting – Community Media platforms. This may include the Marshfield Broadcasting website, social media such as Facebook, the printed Community Newspaper, television channels, streaming platforms, and other Marshfield Broadcasting services. Submitted stories may also be used as the basis for additional coverage or follow-up by The Producers Channel, Marshfield Now!, or other Marshfield Broadcasting programs. Appropriate contributor credit will be maintained when your submitted material is republished.
- No advertising disguised as news. The program is not intended for advertisements, spam or purely promotional content.
Marshfield Broadcasting may suspend or disable contributor accounts that repeatedly violate these guidelines.
Community Contributor submissions represent the contributor's work and do not necessarily represent the views of Marshfield Broadcasting or the City of Marshfield.
