MARSHFIELD, Wis. — The Marshfield Common Council will review the City’s proposed 2027–2031 Capital Improvement Plan at 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, before its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will take place at City Hall, 207 W. 6th Street. The meeting times are also reflected in prior local coverage of the Council’s schedule.
The five-year plan identifies anticipated projects involving streets, utilities, public safety, parks, facilities, equipment and technology. It organizes projects by year, City department and funding source to help guide future budget discussions.
At the regular meeting, Council members will consider how to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The options are to work with the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission or seek proposals from private planning firms. The current plan was adopted in 2017 and must be updated at least once every 10 years.
The agenda also includes consideration of a citizen comment policy and an informational report on succession planning for staff vacancies. Council members are scheduled to hear the first reading of an ordinance that would prohibit camping on City-owned or controlled property outside designated, City-approved areas. Action on that ordinance is scheduled for October 13.
Other items include proposed 2027 ambulance rates, emergency medical service agreements, an appointment to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Committee, and the election of a member to the Marshfield Utilities Commission.
