Marshfield Police Issue Sex Offender Release Notification

MARSHFIELD, Wis. — The Marshfield Police Department has issued a community notification regarding the upcoming release of a registered sex offender who is expected to reside in Marshfield.

According to the department, Jacob A. Stanley, 31, is scheduled to be released on September 8, 2026, and will reside at 201 W. Depot St. in Marshfield.

Police say Stanley was convicted in 2014 of one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child and one count of causing a child to view or listen to sexual activity. He was also convicted in 2013 of one count of fourth-degree sexual assault and one count of contributing to truancy.

Following his release, Stanley will be under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections in Marshfield. According to the notification, he will be monitored by sex offender agent specialists and will be subject to lifetime GPS monitoring.

The department says Stanley's conditions include no unsupervised contact with minors, no contact with the victim, no consumption of drugs, compliance with standard sex offender rules, cooperation with electronic monitoring and compliance with the requirements of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. He is required to register for life.

The Marshfield Police Department emphasized that the notification is being provided for public safety and awareness. Police also cautioned that the information may not be used to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders.

The department said the notification is being released pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m), which allows law enforcement agencies to notify the public of a sex offender's release or residence when the agency determines that releasing the information will enhance public safety, protection and awareness.

Questions about the notification may be directed to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry at 608-240-5830 or the Marshfield Police Department at 715-384-3113.
