The City of Marshfield is reminding residents to prepare for the upcoming Spring Primary Election on Tuesday, February 17. Voters are encouraged to review their options early and plan ahead to ensure a smooth voting experience.
Voting Options: Three options are available below.
Vote at the polls on Election Day
Polling locations are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Vote in person absentee at City Hall during designated hours
In-person absentee voting will be held at City Hall, 207 W. 6th Street, from Tuesday, February 3, through Friday, February 13. Hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m.–Noon.
No in-person absentee voting is held the day before Election Day.
Vote absentee by mail
Contact the City Clerk's Office and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary, the election, or both. You may make a written application to the City Clerk for an absentee ballot in person, by email, or at MyVote.
Your written request must include:
Your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote.
The address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different from the address above.
The election(s) for which you wish to receive an absentee ballot.
Your signature.
A copy of your photo identification.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot is Thursday, February 12th, at 5 p.m.
Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity, or disability may not be required to provide photo ID. If this applies to you, contact the City Clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror.
Voter Registration: Before you start the registration process, check to make sure that you are not already registered to vote. In order to vote either in person or absentee in an election, you must first be registered to vote. In the State of Wisconsin, you can register to vote on Election Day at your polling place. Here are some helpful resources to help you register to vote.
Are you eligible to vote?
You are a citizen of the United States.
Will be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.
Have resided at your address at least 28 consecutive days prior to the election, and do not currently intend to move.
Are not currently serving a sentence including incarceration, parole, probation, or extended supervision for a felony conviction.
How to Register
Register by mail. Voters may register by mail until 20 days before an election by completing the Voter Registration Application and mailing it with a copy of acceptable proof of residence to the City Clerk, 207 W. 6th Street, Marshfield, WI 54449.
Register online with a current and valid Wisconsin Driver's License at MyVote.WI.Gov. Voters may register online until 20 days before an election. Online registration is checked against Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) records; no additional proof is required.
Register at City Hall. Voters may register at City Hall until 5:00 p.m. the Friday before Election Day. Registration is not permitted on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday before Election Day.
Register at the Polls on Election Day. You must bring proof of residence. Proof of residence is required to vote in Wisconsin. The proof of residence document must include your current name and current address. For example, proof of residence could include a current Wisconsin driver's license, a utility bill, or a residential lease. A complete list is available at elections.wi.gov/register.
