By Marshfield Now! - David Ballerstein Marshfield Mayor Lois TeStrake recently sat down with one of the city’s most active and inspiring residents, Sue Decker, on the latest episode of Coffee with the Mayor—a local program on Marshfield Now! Channel. From giving away bicycles at Chaparrals games to supporting veterans and helping families find their dream homes, Decker’s story is one of dedication, resilience, and heart. Decker, co-founder of Brock & Decker Realty, shared her journey from a career in motorsports manufacturing to becoming one of Marshfield’s most trusted real estate agents. “I got into real estate after going through a personal change,” Decker said. “Rita reached out to me and encouraged me to give it a try. The love for it was instant.” Having spent over 30 years in the real estate business, Sue has helped countless families transition into their next chapters—whether buying, selling, or downsizing. “Helping people move into the next chapter of their lives is my favorite part of the job,” she shared. Decker and her business partner, Sammy Brock, have built a reputation for being not just realtors, but community builders. Their team of handpicked agents offers personalized service, and their work is visible everywhere—from billboards to community events. But Sue Decker’s contributions extend far beyond real estate. She’s the driving force behind several local initiatives and charities, including the beloved “Snow Queen” program, which honors parade marshals each year, and a major Toys for Tots fundraiser held annually at the Legion Hall. And each February, she spearheads the “Packer Fans Pay It Forward” campaign—a personal tribute to her late mother, delivering cheese, brats, and other Wisconsin staples to homeless shelters in every state along the way to the Super Bowl. Her generosity is matched by her humility. “It's really about finding little ways to make someone's day better,” Decker said. “It doesn’t always have to be money—it could be holding a door, giving a compliment, or just smiling.” In addition to her charity work, Sue is deeply connected with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, the NOW Program (Nutrition On Weekends), and the Elks Lodge, where she was honored as Citizen of the Year. She’s also a familiar face at local car shows, often displaying her vibrant “Mean Green Machine” and earning trophies along the way. Mayor TeStrake, who once presented Sue with the Snow Queen’s snowflake herself, summed it up best: “What you've got going through your heart—how can we not keep that pumping for you and with you?” Decker’s impact is a shining example of what makes Marshfield a strong, caring community. As she puts it, “Wake up and ask, ‘How can I make a difference today?’ That’s really all it takes.”
