MARSHFIELD – Shirley’s House of Hope (SHOH) is set to host its annual Iron Chef competition on Thursday, November 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Marshfield. The high-energy fundraiser will feature four local chefs as they race against the clock to prepare dishes using a surprise ingredient, with both a panel of judges and the audience weighing in on the results.

This year’s competing chefs include:
  • Chef Rob Arndt, Vila’s Farm to Table Mobile Food Service & Catering
  • Chef Katie McDaniel, The Hideout
  • Chef Bryan Rank, KamBray’s Mobile Restaurant
  • Chef Adam Winer, The Daily Special Food Truck

Guests will sample appetizers from each chef and vote for the 2025 People’s Choice Award for Best Appetizer in Marshfield. In addition, chefs will compete for awards in categories such as Best Presentation, Best Showmanship, Most Creative, and Best Flavor.

The panel of local celebrity judges includes Everett Mueller, Marshfield Fire Department Chief; Nicolas Kumm, Marshfield Utilities General Manager; and Natasha Tompkins, City of Marshfield District 3 Common Council Member.

Beyond the culinary excitement, the evening aims to raise $98,000 to support SHOH’s shelter and recovery program for women and children affected by domestic violence and addiction. The event will include a live auction paddle raise, an online silent auction, and opportunities for guests to hear powerful stories from former program participants.

Tickets are available now at www.shirleyshouseofhope.org. Admission includes a full meal—complete with cheesecake from 2 ½ Cups—entry to the Iron Chef competition, and the chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Those unable to attend in person may still participate in the online silent auction, which runs from October 20 at 4 p.m. through November 6 at 8 p.m. Registration is free on the SHOH website. Silent auction item donations are being accepted until September 30.

Shirley’s House of Hope, founded in 2010, is a Christian nonprofit organization in Marshfield that provides a safe, nurturing environment for women and children seeking recovery and healing. The shelter receives no government funding and has served more than 600 individuals since its opening.
