By David Ballerstein - Marshfield Now! Marshfield, Wis. — The Chestnut Center for the Arts is teaming up with Studio811 Productions to bring a new monthly open mic event to the community, offering local performers a stage to showcase their creativity. The series kicks off on Thursday, September 11, 2025, and will run on the second Thursday of each month through May 14, 2026. Events will take place at the Chestnut Center for the Arts, 208 S. Chestnut Avenue, with the entrance located on 3rd Street. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Open to the public, the series welcomes performers of all kinds, from musicians and poets to comedians and storytellers. Performance sign-ups are first-come, first-served, with each participant given 15 to 20 minutes to share their set. A PA system, microphones, and a tuned piano will be available for use. Organizers emphasize that this is a community-focused, inclusive event. “All styles of performance are welcome,” said event coordinators. “If you have a song, a poem, a comedy act, or even a short story, this is your chance to share your talents.” The open mic will be held in the main chapel space of the Chestnut Center. An elevator is available for those with disabilities, and attendees are asked to enter through the 3rd Street entrance, as all other doors will be locked. While admission is free, donations will be accepted to support the Chestnut Center and its use of the historic venue. Each evening is expected to wrap up by 9:00 p.m., depending on the number of performers. 2025-2026 dates include: Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Feb. 12, Mar. 12, Apr. 9, and May 14.
